Moyu RS3M MagLev is an upgrade of the bestseller RS3M 2020. The cube has a new revolutionary system for speedcubes which Moyu calls MagLev, short for magnetic levitation. Instead of using springs inside the cube to give it flexibility, they have been removed completely and replaced with two magnets with the opposite poles facing each other. The magnets push away from each other and leave a gap where the spring would have been. This way the friction from the spring and the spring noise that sometimes occurs is removed!

Moyu RS3M Maglev
Moyu RS3M MagLev is fundamentally the same cube as Moyu RS3M 2020. It actually has exactly the same pieces inside the cube, so you get the same popular speedcube as before – with a unique upgrade that makes it faster and quieter. The original cube was already really fast, so this cube is incredibly fast. It otherwise performs at the same high level and still at a price point that is difficult to beat.
How it works
For those who have adjusted speedcubes before, the cube looks familiar under the center caps. You will find the classic screw that you screw on using a screwdriver (which is included in the box). There is one magnet under the screw head and another one at the bottom of the center piece. As the screw is tightened, the magnets get closer to each other and the resistance increases. This is something you have probably experienced if you have tried to push two magnets with the same poles against each other. In practice, this works just like a spring. The clear advantage here is that you avoid the friction and the metallic sound of the spring being rubbed against the screw and washer.

The Moyu RS3M is very popular, but its main critique has been that the magnetic strength between the pieces is somewhat weak. This refers to the magnets in the edge- and corner pieces, not the new MagLev system. If you choose the plus version of RS3M, we add extra magnets to the cube which gives it a stronger magnetic feeling.

Know your way around cubes? Choose the “do it yourself” version and we will send you 25 magnets that you can mount in your cube on your own. Here’s how it works:
- Lift a center cap and unscrew a screw.
- Remove all edge and corner pieces from the core.
- Separate all edge pieces.
- Behind each magnet in the edge pieces, place another magnet on top.
- Assemble all the pieces and reassemble the cube.
NOTE! Be careful when assembling the cube. Our warranty does not cover damage that occurs while you modify your cube. Pieces should never be pushed into place with brute force. i was excited, but i dont recommend this version. i havent had it for a full month and 3 skrews already rusted, 1 magnet broke first time i opened it. you should just get the normal version with the lube.

The most affordable cube on the market and my new main! It is incredibly fast and performs exceptionally well! To compensate for the fact that it is so extremely twisted, I installed a round of extra magnets and that made it more stable. After that, it rotates the bearings in place itself only the bearing approaches the correct position. It gave it a very lovely feeling! If you like RS3 2020, you will love this one! Highly recommended!
