LanLan Skewb Diamond is a fun and interesting puzzle from LanLan. Although the puzzle has Skewb in the name, it is not very similar to the Skewb. This is a much trickier puzzle for you who need more of a challenge. That Skewb is included in the name comes from the fact that Skewb Diamond has four axes that the pieces rotate around. The puzzle is therefore sometimes also called the four axis octahedron.

As mentioned above the LanLan Skewb Diamond is a four-axis octahedron. This can lead to a lot of confusion when you twist it and even though it does not have as many pieces, it becomes tricky to solve – just like Rubik’s cube! Even if you have tried many of the puzzles we sell here at Cuboss, this will be a fun challenge and we highly recommend it for those who are looking for something different. The puzzle is robust and of good quality. It is easy to turn and clicks into place just like a Skewb does.

First off, it’s surprisingly big! I had assumed that it would be about half the height it really is. It’s similar to the LanLan Octahedron (which is kind of the “3×3” version, with this being the “2×2”) but is physically bigger for some reason. The clicky mechanism feels pretty nice, but also clicks in orientations that cannot rotate (clicks 3 times during one rotation but only one click is aligned). Probably thanks to the clicking, it doesn’t have lockups. The stickers on mine are a bit bubbly, but that’s probably inevitable due to them being really large. It’s relatively straightforward to figure out, as corners are fairly fast to solve via intuition or luck and an algorithm for permuting centers isn’t terribly complicated to discover.
