The best cubes? Speedcubers' recommendations
Today, there are lots of different speedcubes and it is not always easy to know which cube is the best. Here you can get tips from experienced speedcubers who have tested lots of cubes from different brands. These recommendations only include WCA cubes. That is, puzzles you compete with at official speedcubing competitions.
These are the best speedcubes you can buy today according to the members of Team Cuboss. They are picked through a voting system where all members get one vote towards the best speedcube in every category. The cube with the most votes wins, and get listed here. A new vote is held every year, so that you always have an updated list of which cubes the proffesionals use when they compete.
The cubes you see above are Team Cuboss’ personal favorites among the cubes in our shop. Last updated 2024-10-11.
Below are recommendations for beginners. This means products that suit you who may have never tried a puzzle in that specific category and want a cube that performs well without breaking the bank. These are still speedcubes and can be used to solve the cubes really quickly. Some of these have actually been used to break previous world records.
When we have looked at these cubes, we have had the following three things in mind:
The cube must be affordable. If it’s your first time buying a Megaminx, it can be difficult to know how deep into it you want to go. Then it can feel unnecessary to buy the most expensive and best cube when a cheaper version works just fine for beginners.
The cube should be easy to handle. Many of the new cubes that are released on the market are extremely fast. As a beginner, they can be a bit difficult to control and there is a chance that you will get slower times. That is why we have selected user-friendly puzzles here.
The cube should be long-lived. If you buy, for example, a Pyraminx for beginners and develop quickly, you should not have to buy a new one right away. The selected cubes below are also suitable for those who have become faster and have reached a slightly higher level, so that you do not have to switch up at once.
