Yuxin Teraminx (or Yuxin 7×7 Megaminx as it is also sometimes called) is a real badass that builds on Yuxin’s series of Megaminx-like puzzles. Counting from the center piece on each side, the pieces extend three layers out, just the same as on a regular 7×7. However, your Yuxin Teraminx has more pieces in total and will be harder to solve than a 7×7 and it will give you a challenge for a long time to come. The Yuxin Teraminx weighs in at a whopping 458 grams and is 100 millimeters high from head to toe when standing up. Despite that, the puzzle manages to maintain a very compact and robust feel, without the risk of troublesome pops. Right out of the box, the puzzle has dry but smooth moving layers. With lubricant, the Yuxin Teraminx becomes a joy to solve. All layers slide easily against each other, and with the ridges of the puzzle, it becomes easier to hold during the solve.

Not quite as good as their Gigaminx, but still very well-made and enjoyable. Despite how it may look, the molds aren’t the same as on said Gigaminx; every piece except the center is smaller, including the corner pieces. Of course, the puzzle is still larger overall. The plastic feels a bit lower quality and has a more matte finish. There’s some uneven coloring as well, especially on the red face, but it’s not noticeable unless you really pay attention to it in bright light.
This puzzle does lock up sometimes, but it luckily resolves itself quickly with a bit of back-and-forth nudging. I use these bigger puzzles as a relaxation / wind-down thing and this is really great for that. There’s quite a bit of solving to do, it takes me around 1h 30m as a non-speedcuber.
