Customizable magnetic strength
The magnets inside the corner- and edge-pieces help you align the layers into correct position after performing a move. This gives you better control over the cube and enhances stability. The cube lets you adjust the magnetic strength to suit your own personal preference with its three different modes. Turning a layer 45 degrees will reveal a tile with magnets. The three magnets in the tile have three unique magnetic strengths, 1 meaning strongest, 2 medium and 3 being weakest. Rotate the tile with the use of an included screwdriver to switch to another magnetic strength. The magnet pointing away from the cube is the currently active magnet.
Adjust tension and elasticity in steps
Under the lid of the center pieces you’ll find a variety of adjustment options which allow you to customize the cube to suit your own personal preference. By turning the hexagon shaped tile near the screw you can adjust the tension. The tile has markings and the tile will click into position at different modes which lets you easily achieve the same adjustments on all sides of the cube. By turning the octagon shaped tile surrounding the hexagon tile you can adjust the elasticity (spring pressure). This tile has markings as well and will click into position at different modes. Included with the cube is a nifty tool with hexagon and octagon shapes on both sides which easily let you rotate the tiles.
The cube as a whole
The Dayan TengYun V2 M is a really fast cube. With its slightly heavier pieces, the cube gives a lot of pressure and a nice snap in its turns when performing finger tricks. The cube is flexible and with the use of the adjustments mentioned above you can min-max this cube to the extreme. The cube has a new interior surface, with notches similar to GAN’s “Honeycomb” surfaces. These notches give the cube a unique and soft feel to its turns. The cube is rather quiet, but not to the same degree as the TengYun V1.
