The GAN 249 V2 is a luxurious and high qualitative 2×2 speedcube from GAN. With its modern design this cube performs really well and definitely lies within the top 2×2 speedcubes. The GAN 249 V2 is a light cube with a very soft and smooth feeling when turning its layers, and locking layers is basically non-existent. Just like modern speedcubes, it cuts corners very well.

The GAN 249 V2 is the second version of GAN 249. The cube has received an upgrade to a detail which made the cube occasionally lock up when solving at very high speeds. This has now been fixed in this latest version. In addition, they’ve added their patented honey comb surface to the inside of the pieces, just like GAN has done for some of their most popular products. Pictures are shown below. The cube was also given new, refreshing brighter colors.
In addition to the unique feeling provided by the new honeycomb surface, the cube is unique in several aspects. Dimensions are slightly smaller than other 2×2 cubes on the market, coming in at 49 mm (hence the name 249, 2×2 49 mm). The cube is very light, just 52 grams. This makes it similar to the Gans Air-series cubes, making the cube feel very light and airy smooth. The cube is also a special type of stickerless cubes – the mechanism inside the cube itself is white and the plastic on the outside has been colorized, instead of stickers.

Stable and well made and I like the colors. However, very unusual when you are used to & quot; ordinary & quot; cubes due to the surfaces. The inside with honeycomb is just a habit. What lowers the grade is that it is a bit slippery on the outside for my taste and then I still prefer stickerless. If you are used to stickers, it can probably be a bit difficult. The tool to adjust the springs with is also very clumsy and difficult to use, would have preferred a regular star screw..The size of the cube is no problem, I have normal hands.I would have preferred a more standard cube in the same price range. I’m pretty green on 2×2, sub 15 with Ortega. 🙂

It is very fast, almost so fast that you turn completely wrong sometimes. Big enough and a nice feeling. It is only difficult to put together if needed (I have no experience with 2×2, so that may be why). I think this is a cube to buy if you want to be sure that you get an affordable cube.
