While solving the Mefferts Gear Shift you’ll need to change your mindset a bit. Instead of turning layers, you turn its corners. Turning a corner will make the rest of them mimic the movement, but you can also pull different layers from each other to turn one side at a time, resulting in only half of the pieces moving. To do this, pull two layers in opposite directions. This puzzle is more difficult than a gear cube. NOTE: Handling this cube can be quite tricky and it takes some time getting used to. As the cube is made of cogwheels there’s a risk of pinching – be careful when turning it!
