The puzzle, which is produced by ShengShou, is of great quality which contributes to a more fun solution. It’s what is known as a 3×3 mod – which means it has the same mechanism as a 3×3 cube. It can even be solved with roughly the same method as a 3×3 cube. The Mastermorphix is still significantly more difficult than a regular Rubik’s cube and provides a challenge even for experienced cube-solvers.

Tricky 3×3 but difficult to twist
This completely confuses the brain but is largely solved completely as a 3×3 cube. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to spin and often locks so the solution is with full focus on getting the bearings exactly and there is no enjoyment or relaxation. Will have this as a fun and challenging 3×3 cube in the collection but will probably rarely give it all the time needed to be solved due to locks often. It lowers the rating a bit.

Since I’m pretty used to shapeshifters, I thought this would go pretty fast. But it’s a little trickier than you might think. It is very entertaining. Right now I am working on a Megamorphix (4x4x4) but I recommend starting with this cube first! Good buy and a good price!

Difficult
It is difficult to turn at first because you do not turn it like a pyramid. This caused it to pop 2 times but it is easy to put on the pieces. Recommended for people who can solve the simpler shape shift cube like a yileng.

The lids on the pieces fall off easily, which makes it impossible to know which color should be on the right piece

I bought it in stickerless at Nyköping cubeday 2016. It was quite difficult but still fun to solve and it spins fantastically. It is very comfortable to hold in your hands when it is loose and the features feel very soft.
