Teodor Zajder Breaks the Rubik’s Cube World Record – 2.76 Seconds!
The world record for solving the Rubik’s Cube as fast as possible has slowly but surely approached the dream barrier of three seconds in recent years. Max Park’s 3.13, Yiheng Wang’s 3.08 and Xuanyi Geng’s 3.05 have already become classics that have impressed people all over the world. Yiheng Wang in particular has managed to achieve five times of 3.1 seconds or lower, which made him perhaps the clearest candidate to be the first to clear the barrier. To the great surprise of the speedcubing world, this person instead turned out to be someone completely different – the nine-year-old Polish rising star Teodor Zajder!
It was in the first round of the past weekend’s competition in Gdańsk, Poland that he struck. After three normal attempts, he sits down to perform the fourth solve and immediately notices that the scramble is very lucky. Large parts of the solution are planned already during the fifteen seconds that you have at most to inspect the cube before the timer needs to be started. 29 moves and 2.76 seconds later, Teodor Zajder has written himself into the history books for eternity. Read more about the solution itself below.
Especially great for us at Cuboss is that in 2025 we sponsored Teodor Zajder in his quest for new records! We saw the potential in this very young talent early on, and are proud to have been able to be a little help on the way to new heights. To break the record, he used his own signature cube Teodor Zajder Signature Series GAN 12 M.
