The Qiyi Sail W is a budget cube from 2019. The inner mechanism has received upgrades that lets this cube withstand a few blows. The cube is stable and pop-safe. The center-pieces have been slightly cut-off which reduces the risk of lock ups, giving you a great flow when solving. The cube is easily turned right out of the box and no lubricant is needed for it to be fast.

For its price, this cube is very well-built, even such that we were a bit surprised when we had it delivered to the shop. What makes this cube differ from the more expensive cubes is its capacity to cut corners. The cube doesn’t cut corners very well compared to today’s speedcubes, but if you have good precision over your moves then the cube is great. This cube works perfectly fine as a beginner cube. So much for the money. Reminiscent of a speed cube in terms of mobility, but does not hold the rows in the same way due to a lack of, for example, magnets. Still very easy and so affordable. If you need a basic cube, this is the asbra.
