To get started, download the “Smart Player Pro” app, it is available for both Android and iOS. Note, however, that it is only available in English. The connection process is simple, you just need to enter an email address and verify a code that is then sent to the email address you entered.
Once inside the app, step one is to connect the cube to the device you want to use it with. Tap the cube in the bottom left corner to connect, for your puzzle to appear on the list of available devices you usually need to make a few random moves on it to bring it to life. To make sure that the cube appears as solved in the app when it is solved in real life, the easiest way is to use the “Solve to sync” button. Given that the cube has a built-in gyroscope that tracks rotations you make during the solve, it is finally a good idea to make sure that the cube in the app has the same orientation as the cube in real life. This is adjusted by simply spinning the cube with a finger inside the app.
The menu of different functions and modes is long, there are lots of fun things you can do with your X-Man Tornado V4 AI! The list below explains some of the app’s most important modes:
- Guidance – Let the app generate a solution for the cube you have in your hand.
- Practise – The app generates a scramble to follow, keeps track of inspection, and measures the time of your solve.
- Times – Here you will find different types of statistics on your previous solves.
- Room Competition – Under the menu option “Comp”, you can choose to either join or create a room to compete against others.
- 1v1 – Get matched against a single opponent for head to head matches. Gradually, you rank up and get to face equally fast opponents.
- Patterns – Here is a list of 60 different stylish patterns that the app can help you create on your cube.
The cube lasts up to 200 hours on a single charge, which is more than half an hour of use every day for a year. If it needs to be recharged, this is easily done in the included charging station which also acts as a power bank. Finally, the cube includes a variety of accessories, everything from an extra yellow center cap (to replace the one with a hole for charging), mobile stand, USB-C cable, screwdriver, collector’s card and a variety of instruction manuals.
