Although the Pyraminx is in the budget category for Pyraminxes, a modified version of this Pyraminx was used to break the world record with an incredible 1.83 seconds average. The Yuxin Little Magic Pyraminx M has great potential, as Tymon Kolasiński demonstrated in 2021 when he broke the Pyraminx world record with a modified version of this puzzle. Even without modification, this is a great Pyraminx that we highly recommend for beginners as well as for pros. But for those of you who want an exact copy of the Pyraminx used for the world record, see instructions below.
Modified version:
- Divide the tips to access the magnets inside them. Remove a magnet from each tip. This is to lower the magnetic strength.
- Unscrew the screws and remove the washers located between the spring and the screw head.
- Lubricate around the capsule in which the screw is located. Lubricate both sides of the spring. Use Weight 5.
- Lubricate the Pyraminx pieces with Weight 5.
